Bed and Breakfast

When not hosting retreats we also offer bed and breakfast accommodation at Cariton.
The same rooms and facilities are available to guests on retreats and staying for bed and breakfast.


Like the surrounding area, Cariton is steeped in history, and the house is at least two hundred years old.
A Comfortable mix of ancient and modern, the house combines recently updated facilities with charming old features in stone and wood.


All our rooms are beautifully decorated with wooden floors, comfortable beds and stunning views over the surrounding vineyards.

All beds have medium firm memory foam mattresses and high quality cotton bedding. We have carefully planned each room to incorporate convenient storage for clothes with some hanging space, luggage area, sockets for chargers and bedside tables with reading lights. All of our rooms have twin beds, two with the option of a double.

Chêne Chambre (Oak Room)

First room at top of corridor so nearest main ground floor bathroom and first floor toilet, featuring two windows and a hand basin with cupboard. Can be arranged as a double or twin.

Marronnier Chambre (Chestnut Room)

Second room along corridor, also near to main bathroom, and first floor toilet. Can be arranged as a double or twin. With a wardrobe with ample storage for your clothes.

Saule Chambre (Willow Room)

With twin beds and storage area. This room would be the most suitable for single guests or those on a tighter budget being our most compact. First floor shared shower room with toilet easily accessible.

If Chambre (Yew Room)

Last room along corridor so possibly the quietest, this room features a stunning balcony with sitting area comfortable for 2-4 people to share morning coffee, afternoon tea or evening apero. The balcony terrace also provides private access for the rooms guests to enter the garden or downstairs public terrace without walking through the house. The room is adjacent to a shower room with toilet that can be shared or booked for private use and also features a full length wardrobe. Can be arranged as a double or twin.

Shared spaces


Prepare your own food in comfort on new, modern appliances with rustic touches. Facilities include a large fridge-freezer, dishwasher, double-sink, fan oven, induction hob and microwave. Cooking utensils, pans, cutlery and crockery are provided.

Lounge & Dining

A cosy characterful room with ancient oak beam ceiling, an open wood fire and an oak dining table which comfortably seats eight. Sofas around the cast iron wood fire make for a comfortable spot to snuggle up and relax.


With stunning views over the surrounding vineyards, the terrace garden and sometimes to the Pyrenees Mountains. A terrace table and chairs seats eight for comfortable dining

Long Room

The long room is our practice space during retreats and is available to bed and breakfast residents as a large space to enjoy your own yoga or meditation practise or to play with children in poor weather. 18 metres long with stone walls and views over the surrounding vineyards, this is a light, airy and welcoming room.

The Hall

With a library of books and comfortable chairs, this first floor space overlooking the trees in the garden is another pleasant area to relax and unwind.

The Couloir

With large picture windows onto the trees in the garden, this is our reception area, a lovely place to relax and enjoy our gallery of original artworks for sale.



  • Swimming pool - Our 12 metre pool is surrounded by lawn and oak trees, a haven to relax in.
  • Shower - Solar heated poolside shower.
  • Dining - Table on terrace overlooking vineyard and valley, to seat 8 - space to add another 8 seater table and accommodate 16.
  • Sunbeds - Several comfortable chairs to relax on around the pool and garden.
  • Trampoline - 4 metre, good condition.
  • Pull up bar - Freely available for guests.
  • Bikes - Various sizes available to borrow.
  • Fire-pit - Cosy area for communal gatherings.
  • Parking - Available free on site for guests.



Our buffet breakfasts offer a number of options which include croissants, cereal, cheeses, juices and beverages.


Our spacious garden provides many spots to wander and rest. The 2 acres features formal gardens, a viewpoint over the land and surrounding vineyards, a forest path, a firepit and many places to sit and be. As well as formal planting, the garden has abundant wild areas - with ferns, woodland and a rockery. There is has abundant wildlife: squirrels, deer, bats and frogs are regular vistors.
